Component cable issues with tv?

I have a floor model HDTV so it does not have hdmi input so i have to use component cables. My problem is after connecting the component cables to the correct terminals all i get is a grey distorted image and a buzzing sound. Please help I'm trying to connect my wd media live tv plus device. It worked perfectly before but i just cant figure out how i fixed it.
