Why does my acoustic guitar sound overdriven?

So I have been in the middle of doing some home recording with my band. I've been using a combination of a condenser mic with the d.i of my guitar, but the sound coming out of my d.i has this overdriven, distorted feel. Any ideas why, and can it be fixed? It also happens now when I plug into anything so it's probably not an error with any of my equipment. Please help
