Can you be compelled by a plaintiff's lawyer to be deposed prior to the court ruling on a preliminary objectio?

Im being sued in PA and the plainiffs lawyer is trying to compel me to discovery prior to my preliminary objection is ruled upon. ignored the intial discovery request and now the plainiffs lawyer filled a motion to compel discovery.
